thanks for the reply and I agree with your advice. I called pertronix and they said they didn't feel it was the pretronix either. So I'm going to replace the ballast resistor first and give it a try. That way I will know for sure if it is the resisotr or not. Then if it still doesn't start I will go through the wiring from the ignition switch to the starter. When I first got out of the hospital Sunday I still was feeling pretty rough. But today I feel a whole lot better and I'm ready to tackle the job and get the old truck up and back on the road. Thanks for the help and I will post back when I get the truck fixed.
