#77175 05/07/2007 3:53 AM | Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Oct 2005 Posts: 1,317 | I'll just bet if you push a putty knife around through all that accumulation of road gunk you'll discover a 1/8npt plug that have been used to eliminate pressure side of the bypass filter.
Just above the bottom lip of the engine is an oil gallery that runs from front to back. This is the pressure side. A couple inches above it is the return gallery...same front to back. That's where your sensor is located.
Above the return gallery, towards the back of the engine is the threaded throttle bell-crank mount where your gas pedal forward motion is changed to up and down motion to work your carb linkage.
Eliminating the bypass filter will pick up 5-7 more pounds of oil pressure. Hope this helps.
