Once the gasket is in place, it won't have much of an opportunity to warp as long as the glass bowl is cinched up snug. Back when those filters were in general use, we seldom re-used a gasket. Anytime it was necessary to remove the bowl for cleaning, the gasket got replaced. Of course, the parts stores stocked them by the dozen back then.
