That’s it Tim, straight out of 50’s Casco patent document. And yep, got one of their elements right here in my paw, and guess what, strangely enough it looks just exactly like the other 12v coils that I’ve got in the electrical box.
The original 6v lighter element wire, as I posted earlier, is thicker and only makes a half dozen loops, the 12v version is much finer wire and has about twice as many loops, so you tell me, is that reproduction element really a 6v version????

The 6v receptacle is 21.4mm, the 12v receptacle is 20.97mm so you can stuff a 12v element into a 6v receptacle but not the other way round. I also got one of their 6v complete lighter assemblies and it to looks like it’s just a 12v unit labeled as a 6v. The receptacle in it is 21.1mm and my old original 6v plug will not fit.
Score another one in the red for our suppliers!

I can buy those sockets with the angle brackets Bill, what I’m looking for exactly what Tim brought up, one that would fit the accessory cigar lighters. Since they seem to be no longer available, it looks like I’ll have to make a die and try pressing some shells out in my 20-ton press. Gosh, there just isn’t any end to the fun is there!
