Soda blasting media is a one-time use material that is made for soda blasting. The last time I saw some for sale, it sold for about $30 per bag.
A soda blaster will not also work with sand or other abrasive media, without changing the fittings (conversion kits are available). If I am wrong about this, we will see corrections posted soon.
Soda blasting might remove light surface rust but it supposedly will not remove heavy rust.
