Kim if I can give you a tip that I've learned from taking apart several of these old truck with rusted fasteners. If the old man doesn't have one of those new 18v impact drivers that use the 1/4" hex shanks, get him one for his birthday so you can use it to take out those rusted screws and bolts. With a little PB Blaster or Kroil they work magic on old rusty fasteners. The ones that won't come loose it will shear right off.
You can get tons of bits for them and there are several Ebay sellers that stock clutch head bits with a hex drive.
Here's a picture of the drill mate that came with the driver, it looks almost the same as the drill.
