I recently aquired a '55 235 engine that was said to have run last fall. The engine is complete with a 3spd column shifter tranny. My intentions are to eventually rebuild and use in my '41 truck. In the mean time I've bolted it to a pallet for easy manueverability. What I'd like to know is if I can run it for short lengths of time to keep it lubed up? Or do I just fill the cylinders with oil and turn the fan every few months? It could be years before this will see use. If so, can I bypass an ignition to start it? All the wires are present and I see know reason why I couldn't start it. How would one get around the radiator? Recirculate the hose from outlet to inlet?
