Most of the cheap aftermarket three speed shifters I have seen usually make it hard to hook up the speedo cable without modifing the bracket that bolts the shifter to the trans. The part you screw the cable on is usually behind the shifter assembly,hopefully the person who installed it was too lazy to hook the cable back up but you might have to cut out the bracket some to get the cable hooked up or find one of those 90 degree angle adapters that some trucks have to get the cable to work.
