Update, guys,and amazingly, on my own doorstep!
My neighbor put me on to a local guy who's one of those rare breeds, a man who can fix anything auto-electrical, and loves a challenge! He does a lot of the local farmers tractors so is no stranger to Delco-Remy. Going to take it down to him tomorrow and get a verdict on it, he sounds positive.
I'll post news on here as I get it, might be of use to some of you other guys with the "what fits what" scenario.
