Regular Chevy 3 spd gear ratios were the same right up into the early 60's,2.94 first and a 1.68 second,third is always direct.Close ratio gearsets were offered for mid 50's Vettes,something around a 2.47 first gear and a 1.50 second gears and some say an even closer set with a 2.20 first gear.These gears can be fitted into the earlier 3 spds,perhaps that's what you got.It's possible McGurk had gears made,if so, your may have some valuable gears,lol.
