The in-dash gauge on my 1950 Chevy PU is a Stewart-Warner. It has the fuel, oil, water temp, and battery gauges in one gauge. The fuel gauge registers FULL when turning on ignition, and 1/2 FULL when turning off. I don't get the correct reading on the gas. I took out the sending unit and it looks to be in good shape, but it also seems to be the original sending unit. Also, the truck is a street rod (12 volt system). Any suggestions?
