How do you get it out? Does the truck spit it out? Or is there a trick to this?

The truck spits it out unless it backfires, then it eats it and you.
The socket on the harmonic balancer is designed with a "swirl" (for lack of a better word) that kicks the two engaging pins on the crank handle back as the engine speed exceeds your speed. The problem is that this is not an exact science and sometimes it likes to tenderize your forearm prior to eating it. :blat:
