Redoing my interior, and before I put the carpet in I wanted to put in some insulation underneath and on the firewall, mainly for noise and heat.

So I got a roll of this silver heat barrier type insulation from Home Depot for about $12. Seems perfect for this type of use. It's about a half inch thick, and easy to work with.

Anyway, how do I get it to stick to the firewall? I cut out all my peices and taped them to the firewall using duct tape. Then the next morning I noticed all the duct tape came off... so that's not gonna work. Any other ideas? The firewall is clean and freshly painted, but not quite smooth.

I've never had luck with the spray adhesives. I've tried them with headliners, and if it couldn't even get a cloth headliner to stick, I doubt it will work for this.

Thanks!
