A student at the school where I used to teach almost lost a foot when a stovebolt engine tipped over forward during a rebuild procedure. The kids had taken the engine off the stand, attached the bellhousing, flywheel, and clutch, and re-mounted it to complete the assembly. The extra length made it unstable, and engine, stand, and all tipped over. The kid was wearing heavy work shoes, not the canvas athletic shoes he had been wearing the day before. He still needed dozens of stitches to repair the damage to his foot! Use a stand that will handle a long, heavy engine safely!
