It's not that difficult. First make sure your hood is a "good" fit on your truck. Decide if you want the center flat or peaked. The first rule of welding is short stitch welds and space them in groups so that you don't build up to much heat. I think the flat surface is easier than peak. The peak requires adding round or square stock to the seam weld. Practice on something until you feel confident, then go for it. Worst case you might have to come up with another hood!! Note: I did not cut off the center lip, I just welded the top seam solid and tacked underside of the seam togeather. Hope this helps.
