I have something that has me a little stumped...hope I can explain it right, and I hope this is the right forum to post this.
I have a 61 Chev half ton. I have been getting it freshened up over the last while, as it has sat for a long time. Upon driving it today, only after it had been driving a while and was thoroughly warmed up, the rear end (I think it was anyway) started acting unusual. When I drove slowly around tight corners, it almost felt like something was rubbing or grinding. The rear end felt "stiff" almost a gear feeling. I don't know what to think of it besides that...not sure if my gears in my rear axle are screwed, if it's my brake drums grabbing, or worn u-joints...Only thing I've done with the rear end is change the gear oil ( I used 80W90) and check the rear brakes, which were in great shape. It only does this after being driven for a while and everything's heated up.
Any suggestions?
