I've tried looking through the 16 pages of oil filter threads in the "search" function for info on different shapes of accessory oil filter cannisters without much luck. Here's the question...I'm looking at an alleged 1953 GMC oil filter cannister..it is longer and narrower than the AD oil filters I've seen before. I did notice in one of my manuals that early 216's had (42-46) had what appeared to be long narrow cannisters. Were two shapes of cannister available from GM/Chevy ?
