I have had fuel filters partially plug, and at higher speeds start cutting out and when I slow down (using less fuel) it picked up again. Also I have been using a suction filter since I have had the fuel pump get little pieces of rust in it an stop pumping, this is only 4 years after putting a for all practical purposes new tank in. Good luck flushing it out I tried that for 2 years before I finally just gave up and got a new one.
