First thing to do is readjust the linkage,follow the shop manual,if you don't have one they are online .I don't know how to link stuff,somone will help here , but it's easy to adjust the rods, that "click" is the detent in the trans arm When it's fully in gear as things wear it may not be pushing the arm fully into gear thus no "click".
