Can you address the rocker arm problem by changing the height of the rocker shaft by extending or shortening the stands that hold it off the head? It might require custom-length pushrods if you do that, however. What's the stock rocker ratio, and how much extra valve lift do you anticipate getting? On some of the small block Chevy V-8's I've built, changing the rocker ratio actually resulted in a horsepower loss on the dyno unless a massive amount of geometry correction was done, moving rocker stud position, etc.
