With the engine in the truck, be sure to support the frame, not the axle, on jack stands before trying to remove the oil pan. This lets the axle hang down low enough to get the pan off the engine. If weight is on the wheels, or the stands are under the axle, there's very little clearance and the pan might not drop down low enough to clear everything.
