I finally have some good news to post to the group. After 2 1/2 years of work I finally restarted the engine on my 55 1st series. It was a pretty amazing event considering all that I have been through with this truck. It has been a complete frame-off restoration with some minor modifications (I promise to post pictures soon) such as a dual master brake system and Saginaw Transmission along with wooden running boards and a heavy wood flat bed.
As wonderful as it was, it is still not on the road, just need to finish wiring the brake lights, finish bleeding the brakes (has a couple leaks still), and put in the door windows. I may drive it around the block without windows though
The grill still needs to be stripped and redone. That is my winter project. Again, pictures will be posted soon.
