Owner of '49 3/4 ton contacted me for help on his Chevrolet project. A 350 small block was installed in the 1st series frame. The cab had it's firewall 'heart' cut out for the HEI. I set the steering sector on the frame, clearance for the spark plug was 1/2 inch. The exhaust manifold would have no clearance. I ask about the 216 where-a-bouts and he pointed at the corner of the shop to the complete engine. His mood and project interest has improved ! I have rebuilt the 216, one iron piston replaced, all valves replaced. Plans for fire'in it up this week. The owner and I purchased a long block 235 Sunday for future plans.
