I totally cleaned the fuel system and installed a new carb kit. The motor starts right up and idles nicely. I hear a popping/backfiring noise in third and fourth gear. If I am going down a hill it doesn't pop, but accelerating in the upper gears at any time makes it start popping. I also checked the distributor for bad points. Any suggestions or tips would be very appreciated.
