I have an original 1944 216 that is still the stock engine and it runs fine after 92,000 miles. I do change my oil every month regardless of the mileage and do the filter every other month. The only changes I have done is covert the car to 12 volt and use a Mallory Distributer and coil. The three speed transmission id also original. So far now problems and all the chatter about converting to a full pressure oiling system is great if you have the money. And I have a '47 I am doing that with now. But it isn't cheap and now I have to ask, "Is it really worth it?" I'm still thinking about that.
