Just because a shop is known for quality work doesn't mean that they know how to trouble shoot a 50 year old engine. Find you some guy in his 60's who worked on them 50 years ago. I would suggest quit worrying about the compression numbers and figure out what is wrong. What all did you have apart? Have you checked the simple things like is it popping a fat spark and are you getting gas to the carburetor and is it going through the carburetor?
