You should have current at one term of the stop light switch at all times. When you press on the brake the other term should be hot. If you dont have current to the switch it is probably the fuse. Check both sides of each fuse with the test light. If one side is live & not the other, the fuse is blown. If you have current at both sides of the switch check the wires in the turn switch going to the rear lights. They should be live too. If not the turn switch is bad.
