After taking off my oil-bath air cleaner the other day and discovering the carb throat was absolutely filthy, I decided I wanted to figure out a way to convert to a regular paper filter. Turns out, it was really easy. I bought a Carquest 88094 air filter. It's about 8.25 inches in diameter and about 2.25 inches in height. A shorter one might work better, but I couldn't find one. I ended up having to drill out and replace the threaded center stud to make it longer, but that was the only modification.
Anyway, here's the finished product. Hopefully, this may help someone else out some day.
