I replaced the master brake cylinder, wheel cylinders, lifetime shoes and most of the lines on my 55 Chevy 1/2 ton truck.

I bled the lines and adjusted the brakes per the manual. So the shoes/pads are not touching or rubbing the drums after the adjustment.

But here is the problem. I have taken the truck out for a little spin around the hood and the brake pedal gets gradually stiffer the longer I am driving (no smoke though). The pads are either swelling and/or not backing off of the drum completely. I immediately jack up the truck and spin the wheel and the pads are slightly rubbing. I have tried readjusting them a few times and it keeps happening.

I'm not a pro and it's my 1st project, so I am eager to hear from someone who has been around the block. Am I missing something? Thanks
