Seems yrs ago I put a flywheel in a Malibu for a guy who had installed a used 400 using the OE 350 flexplate(was an automatic). IIRC it shook pretty hard, you wouldn't want to drive it. I have only seen one 400 powered '78 Camper Special that had a 4 speed, most all 400s were autos like Wrenchbender wrote. I think an aftermarket is available & not too awful spendy(less than $200 I think). Check on Summitracing. Brian
