I believe that an exhaust manifold from a 216 or early 235 (41-49) 235 will be needed. The bolt patterns at the intake to exhaust manifold are different, as shown in the
Parts catalog, and the Chevs of the 40s catalog:
Early manifold gasket Note that the parts catalog also shows a third gasket for some of the D-D and COE engines.
Late manifold gasket Has anyone ever adapted the different models?
