Pre'68Dave, thanks for the input. Okay, the lengths are the same. Now I wonder if there is some other difference like diameter or material composition. The Master Parts list shows a part number 3836260 for 1956-57 and (3835777) for 1950-55. I would not think Chevrolet created a new number for the same part.
