but the only way for you to match it is to take a piece to a paint supplier that has computer matching, otherwise any number you come up with couldn't be more than "no cigar"

I agree. Because any sun fading to your paint would make a newly painted area stick out like a sore thumb.When I was painting bike at a shop Honda red was the worse, so we would have to special mix to match any repairs, also pearl whites were a pain to match.
