I'm in sort of a jam, I got this front axle given to me, guy thought it was off of a 54 chevy 1/2 ton. When I got it it was seized up, would not turn spindles (stear)at all. I took it apart with no problems at all, the problem is the kingpin is standard size .866, BUT the bushing is big 1.087, standard is 1.051. Nothing is worn at all, all tight, maybe too tight, that's why it was seized. There is not a groove cut in the outside of the bushing but there is a small groove cut in the inside. At this rate the bushing is .036 over standard, could this be a homemade bushing? Does anyone have any idea how to proceed from here, I don't think I can reuse them as one of them was damaged during removal. Are the spindles off of my 41 the same, could I use the 41 spindles on the 54 axle, the 41 axle would need oversize kinpins.
