I was thinking the same thing Richard, I've had pumps that froze up when I tried using oil in them, time will tell. Mama just told me not to expect another one of those dispensers for the barn, her girl friend gave her that goop for a birthday present and said that little 1.7 oz. jar cost about fifty bucks......
I was at Harbor Freight the other day picking up a couple of electrostatic Fly Swatters, never mind, that's a whole nother story, but I saw a little 3 oz. mini grease gun item 93486, which I thought would be handy for just the same purpose, that is on the bench for just a dab of grease. Got it home and come to find out they didn’t put a spring in it. The instructions on the side say to push the plunger up from the bottom with a blunt object like a screw driver. Another Chinese piece of crap, maybe I should patent that for use as a grease dispenser.
And Dave I know your just a sprout so you're much to young to remember Brylcreem but I actually was a user when I was a teen and wore my hair in a DA like Elvis and the greasers of the day. Had the Levis, engineer boots and car club jacket to boot, ahhh, those were the days, a real rebel with out a cause.
