| | THANKS!
For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 118 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Sep 2009 Posts: 118 | It didn't cost me to much when I put the 700r4 in my truck. I picked up some engine mounts on ebay from a custom street rod shop and modified them. You will need a new shifter unless yours is already auto. I put a racing trans cooler from b&m and I had to have the drive shaft modified. I moved my engine forward a little bit to make it easier to get at the hei. I had to modify my fan shroud because the engine was a little higher than it should have been. Once I got the engine and trans in, I leveled it out and made a simple channel cross member with a spacer to mount the back of the trans. Below is about what I paid for the things I needed and you should add maybe another $100-150 for mounts and other hardware you will need just to be safe. Every thing I bought was new. If you have a one piece drive shaft it will probably be cheaper to modify. You can do them your self but I left mine to the proffesionals. hope this helps
Mounts $60 Cooler $80 Drive shaft $280 Three speed shifter $50
