Thanks guys.

The old fabric wire cover fills the opening on the case, so I can't stuff heat shrink into the hole. Are wires attached to each of these buttons on the case? If so, they prevent the case from being fully opened without damaging the motor. At least that's what I found when I tried to open my 6v heater motor.

I'm a novice at working on the innards of a motor. Not afraid to try, but I sure need your guidence!
