I'm no expert but I can tell you how I did it. My old truck was so bad off it was 2 steps from going to the scrap yard so I did a full frame up restoration. Go to this site,http://www.classictrucks.com/tech/0802ct_chevy_truck_cab_modifications/photo_01.html and look around they have some pretty good tech articles about repairng/replacing panels. I did the floor board first on my 55 2nd series 1/2 ton before replacing the cab corners and such. I stripped the cab of doors glass seat etc. I pulled my cab off the frame and tilted it back on the old rusted cab corners and welded in my new floor panels after sand blasting the cab. It made it real easy to weld in the new panels with the cab off. That way all my welds are on the underside of the cab. then I put the cab back on the frame (after doing what needed done on the frame engine, brakes, and such. And then welded on my new cab corners.
