I have a 56 with the 316 c i pontiac engine. I think when the truck was new we had a problem of engine oil being "pushed" -forced out and trailing back and up the tail gate. The tube I think is the draft tube is shaped some what like the handle and a bit of the stem of a walking cane. The draft tube is located near the fire wall and distributor. Does this seem logical ??
