| | | | Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2009 Posts: 2,201 | When you set the emergency or hand brake a cable pulls the rear shoe forward pushing through that piece to the front shoe which makes the emergency brake work. That is why they work better for rolling forward than backward.
As for finding a replacement, put a wanted ad in the swap meet. | | |
