| | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 30 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 30 | I am rebuilding the brakes on a 1950 chevy 1/2 ton. There is a "bar" on the rear driver side brake connecting the shoes at the top of the assembly. It is a bar with slots at the end. I was told alternately it was a "strut" for the hand brake or a "spreader" for the shoes, any ideas? Restoring 1950, 5 window, 1/2 ton, in family since new. Never done one before.
