I think that you're right, I'm going to bolt her up the bell housing and shorten the driveshaft and give her a try. I ran some numbers and the 4.03 low first with a 3.90 gives a final drive ratio of 15.7 to 1 and a 3.58 to 1 (sm420 2nd) with a 4.56 as in my 3/4 ton final drive ratio is 16.33 to 1 (so even lower, but almost the same). So I think that starting in first should be just fine. I'm not so concerned with the overdrive, because I should still be able to do 70 at ~2450 rpm which should be an improvement over stock. I probably would be pushiong 70 as I tend to drive slow in my regular truck anyways, so the improvement in rpm at 55-60 should do me quite well, especially since the T5 was a gift. Heck I even got the slip yoke from my buddy so I'm ready to go.
