Advance Design Era 1947-1955
Chevrolet introduced its all new post war "advance Design" trucks in the middle of the 1947 calendar year. In fact, Both the earlier and newer style trucks were built simultaneously for a short two month period as these trucks were being introduced. The overlapping production occurred because with the extreme demand for new trucks, GM didn't want any lag in production. The Advance Design series represented the first completely restyled post war car or truck offering from any of the Big Three (GM, Ford and Chrysler).....To the public, Chevrolet's Advance Design models, Particularly those built between 1947 and 1953, are coming to represent the classic old truck.
