I am rebuilding my updraft carb at the moment (41 COE stock) and upon dissassembly I came across a beat up looking sleeve in the throat of my carb. Is this factory, or a governer of some sort? It looks like hi-quality cast pot metal, a little rough on a few of the edges, cylindrical, hollow, narrowing the intake somewhat and just sits in the throat, snugly. Overall length is about 2 inch.
What be it? If it is a governer can I/should I remove it?
