you are getting air somewhere. check all fittings for being tight and that there are no kinks in your lines where it could have crack especially if you had tried to straighten it out.
sometimes the most difficult part is for people to understand when bleeding brakes is the person who is doing the pumping. when you tell them to stop and hold it down, that they are not to lift the pressure off until you tell them to every SOB'in time or you will get air. this can easily happen with kids or wives who get impatient or don't really give a poop
sometimes as previously stated it takes a lot of bleeding.
