Not a king here! I started having trouble with the original pump after I had driven a block from my home. I started troubleshooting and found no fuel coming out of the pump. That's when I changed out the pump. I checked two new pumps(different ones),after taking them off and they pump fine. The pumps were installed properly. While holding the mechanical pump(bolts not tightened) to the engine block and having someone turn the engine over I can barely feel the cam touch the pump. That's why I'm thinking the arm isn't long enough. I'm not trying to pull fuel thru the mechanical pump with the electric one. I hooked up the electric after troubleshooting. The mechanical pump is blocked off. All the lines were blown out and were clean. Still not pumping. Inline filter is new. It's right below the tank. The fuel is flowing thru the filter and up to the pump when engine is off(gravity). I hung the line below the mechanical pump. There is no blockage in the tank. The fuel comes out fine. After re-attaching the fuel line to the pump, it won't go thru. Do they make the same pump with a longer arm. I exchanged the first pump because I thought they had given me the wrong one. I can't check the outlet pressure because there is no fuel coming out. I hope someone has dealt with this problem before and solved it.
