hi, i'm looking for someone who might tell me how to repair or sell me the shaft (or bell and shaft) for a 1950 chevy 1/2 ton speedometer. this is the shaft that connects to the needle. mine appears to be broken just above the disk--there's nowhere for the needle to attach to and the shaft is too short to reach the needle in any event. i tried two of the repair places listed in this forum but one won't sell parts because of liability issues and the other one (scott's speedometer) was very rude and hung up on me when he learned i didn't plan to spend a lot of money to have him refurbish the entire speedometer. also if anyone has a photo of what the shaft is supposed to look like, i would appreciate it. fyi, i really don't care at this time that the speedmoeter is accurate, i just want to be able to attach the needle and have it move. thanks for any advice.
