Woody, I don't profess to be an expert at all but since the current draw is less with 12v and the 6v switch is designed to handle the extra current it should be a walk in the park for the 6v switch. Thinking back to when I converted my old 55.1 panel to 12v I kept the 6v heater switch and it worked fine.
