I am probably going to do the same thing. The opening on the s-10 tank is a far larger diameter, so yeah an adapter plate is going to be needed. I did measure the depth of the tanks one time. I think they are pretty close if I remember. So hopefully it will work. I know the depth of the tank makes a difference.

keep us posted on what you do. I will also keep you guys posted. Again though, I am using a 350 in mine with an s-10 tank
with the original fuel gauge, 12v system.
