I'm in the process of adjusting the hood of my 1957 Chevy pickup. I have the front aligned and the back bumpers are adjusted so the back of the hood aligns evenly with the cowl. It also appears to be aligned straight, front to back. However, when I open and close the hood, the back sits too high. When I press down, the hood sits correctly. I'm guessing the hood springs may be weak, or is there an adjustment for that?
